Vedanta Jharsuguda Hosts Zonal-Level Seminar on Industrial Safety

Jharsuguda, Odisha, February 14, 2026: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, collaborated with the Directorate of Factories & Boilers, Government of Odisha (Jharsuguda Zone) to organize a zonal-level seminar on ‘Boiler Safety, Operation and Management’ at its mega aluminium plant in Jharsuguda. The seminar brought together more than 238 industry professionals, including factory heads, engineers, boiler operators and safety specialists from top companies in the vicinity of Jharsuguda, creating a strong platform for advancing best practices in industrial safety.

Senior leaders from Vedanta Aluminium, Odisha Power Generation Corporation, Thermax, JSW Energy and Rungta Sons shared extensive insights on the importance of enhancing safety skills, adhering to statutory protocols and adopting innovative safety solutions. Mrs. Archana Das, Assistant Director of Factories and Boilers, gave the inaugural speech. Delivering the keynote address, Swaroop Jena, Deputy Director of Factories & Boilers, Sambalpur Division, also emphasized the critical role of regulatory compliance, proactive maintenance and workforce capability-building in ensuring safe, reliable and efficient boiler operations.

The technical sessions covered a wide range of themes, including statutory provisions, boiler leakage case studies, boiler design and energy efficiency, safe operational parameters and capacity enhancement. Subject matter experts from participating industries led these sessions, which concluded with an engaging interactive question‑and‑answer segment. Experts also outlined key provisions of the Boilers Act 2025 and Indian Boilers Regulations (IBR), emphasizing the shared responsibility to uphold the highest standards of boiler safety and statutory compliance.
