Vedanta Aluminium Celebrates Utkal Divas with Cultural Fervour

Jharsuguda, Odisha; 7th April 2025: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, celebrated Utkal Divas at its Jharsuguda operations with vibrant festivities, paying tribute to the rich cultural heritage and resilient spirit of Odisha. The occasion brought together employees, their families, and members of the local community in a collective celebration of the state’s illustrious past and dynamic present.
A key highlight of the celebration was the felicitation of two eminent personalities for their outstanding contributions to society – Padma Shri Pramod Bhagat, internationally acclaimed para badminton champion, and Dr. Nruparaj Sahu, Registrar of Sambalpur University. The honours were conferred in the presence of Vedanta’s senior leadership, who praised the awardees as torchbearers of excellence and inspiration for the people of Odisha.
The celebration came alive with enthralling performances by renowned Odia vocalists Shashank Shekhar and Navya Jaiti, who filled the evening with soulful music that resonated deeply with the audience. Complementing the cultural festivities was a spread of authentic Odia cuisine, offering attendees a taste of the state’s rich culinary traditions
Adding to the immersive experience, the event also featured a vibrant showcase of Odisha’s folk art and craftsmanship. Employees and their families enthusiastically participated in creative competitions such as Jhoti Chita, rangoli, painting, and regional cuisine preparation—each capturing the artistic spirit that defines the state’s cultural identity
