Vedanta Aluminium commemorates 73rd Republic Day at its operations in Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda; 28th January, 2022: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium and value-added products, celebrated India’s 73rd Republic Day with employees, partners, and community members at its Jharsuguda operations. The highlights of the celebrations included a spectacular march past by the company’s security professionals consisting of ex-servicemen, hosting of the national flag by Mr. Deepak Prasad, Dy. CEO – Vedanta Jharsuguda, and award ceremony for the best performing security personnel. The company also celebrated the day with local communities, village sarpanchs, ward members and beneficiaries of more than 44 Nand Ghars, which are Anganwadis modernised by Vedanta that act as centres of women & child development in rural India.

 Addressing the employees and business partners at the ceremony, Mr. Deepak Prasad, Dy. Besides supplying high-quality aluminium products to core industries in India, Vedanta Aluminium has created a multiplier effect through employment opportunities, social interventions, thriving residential clusters and local business communities around the plant operations in Jharsuguda. The creation of much-needed infrastructure, have catalysed significant development in these regions, bringing them to the socio-economic forefront. The company has triggered an exponential GDP growth of Jharsuguda at the rate of 15% between 2003 to 2015.
